Thank You for Our Victory on 11/3! Click here for 11/3 municipal election results Few words can capture the gratitude I feel coming out of Tuesday’s
election. I am truly grateful for your support and am inspired by the confidence you have placed in me as your School Committee
Representative. I couldn’t have accomplished this without your engagement and support! This past year has been both exhilarating and educational.
Conducting a city-wide grassroots campaign became much more than a year-long, 40,000-person “job interview.” Throughout
my journey, I met so many smart and compassionate individuals of all ages and ideologies who care about our city, our schools
and the future of our children. I learned that every village in Newton has its unique issues and priorities and need to ensure we remain connected in the months to come. I will do my best
to live up to your high expectations to champion responsible change and achieve educational excellence.
Thank you for: -- welcoming me into your homes, schools, workplaces, community gatherings, and houses of worship -- expressing constructively both your ideas and your concerns about the future of our schools -- offering yourselves to be part of the solution Most of all, I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve Newton. We have among the best schools in the nation. Let’s ensure that all of our children can reach their full potential by challenging them at every level of learning. To achieve this, we must optimally leverage the creativity, experience, and resources from across our community and beyond to transform our schools and achieve our 21st century vision. We have lots of hard work to do and I can’t wait to get started. I look forward to your continued engagement in the weeks and months to come! Best, Margie I
believe our children deserve to be challenged in school--no matter where they are on the learning continuum. With three children
in our school system, we have experienced a school system that aspires to greatness, but lacks the financing and
infrastructure to fully deliver. I will spark innovation and foster change to ensure that Newton delivers on its promise of educational excellence
for our all children while creating fiscal sustainability. I
WANT to make a difference. Why Vote for Me? As a business owner, management executive and a Board leader, I have 20 years of experience helping diverse organizations successfully navigate change, hire visionary leadership, solve complex
organizational problems, and improve their performance within shrinking budgets. When I am on the School Committee, I will challenge assumptions,
make informed decisions, and advocate creative solutions through a transparent and productive public engagement process. Together, we can achieve learning excellence and financial sustainability. We CAN make a difference! I cannot accomplish these goals without your involvement. I look forward to earning your
support and your vote.
